I can do anything...

Dear diablog,

It is already the 3rd and I realise that all my planned rants for the New Year really become insignificant when offset against the optimism and  excitement of wondering what the year will bring.

In addition, Pete has done his usual solitary post per Mayan moon and Engine Room, well, Engine Room has been to more parties over the last ten days than most people have had sex therapists. He is now so mellow that all he has been able to do at the moment is constantly hector me on all the economic marvels that will be acheived by (depending on your viewpoint) OWS/#pimpmypavement/Sow (oh, that's the real animal) in the coming months.

I have held my breathe (well, paused in breathing) in awe and anticipation at the opening of my eyes to all that is meaningful, good works and pro bono publico.

Sadly, diablog, it is but a rerun of the claptrap and a repeat of all the mealy mouthed mumblings that self styled social reformers have used since man could eliterate. The only person to have truly ever affected and influenced any or all of this navel gazing was Uncle Jo Stalin.
With an ease that still astounds me and pushes me on to read more and more about this destroyer of all/any thing, he succeeded in making everything that has since been labelled as 'Right' (irrespective of where Left or Centre may lie, or by whom the label was applied)  wrong/socially restrictive/manipulative/reactionary/conservative/counter revolutionary whatever - and the whole thing sucks to the point of boredom. Whatever your views, keep them in your pants and don't subject me to them. FO.

Which is why I was so grateful that Michaela popped up

out of the blue with this fantastic piece of...

...film called 'People are Awesome'.

Yes they are - though the overworked American adjective which used to be reserved for the largest of temples is now boring - and I submit it to you as a reminder that you are (as is the planet on which we live) too.

Go for it, you can do it.

Yours, diablog, on the Jetski and forever looking for the positive

The Inverness Druid wishes everyone a very happy and prosperous near year.
Life has returned to normal here in the north of Scotland.
My new years resolution is to cook something from each of the 37 cookery books I own. This is rapidly followed by the promise of clearing out my garage.

Fat chance of the second promise ever happening.
Just returned from Oman. A wonderful holiday. Very relaxing.
On the plane, I told my blonde partner that we are flying on an Airbus A300. She asked what is the difference between an Airbus and an Aeroplane?

Good morn o Druidness! And to you and all yours.
I will post more G+P recipes just to add to the list.
Any samples?

Hi Smiles, did you explain the difference of the 'request stop' from 'timetable stop'?
Wouldn't want her jumping off the platform at the wrong time.

Smiles said...

I do not do requests.

I am sure what you wrote was very good but I didn't understand what most of it was about.

Looks like Pete made it through.

A very impressive film. Probably I can do none of those things as I dont drink Red Bull.
Glynsky, if you were on a jet ski, it would soon be a jet submarine.
