Score points with your lady

Dear Reader,

Our two manly patrons here at diablog seem to have a problem or two with the testosterone level of certain posts, in particular otter posts.

Neither will I discuss possible underlying male insecurities, nor will I put up a post about bloody steak, winter outdoor barbecue, or ice swimming.

Instead, I will help them - and you, how to score (points) with the ladies.

How? By making a delicious drink especially for her.

It is a very nice drink for the holiday season, an alternative to eggnog.

Don't worry, it is very easy to make.

Here are the ingredients, aka your shopping list:

•      1 bottle of clear vodka (38 vol-%)
•      8 fresh eggs / we need the egg yolks only
•      250 ml double cream
•      1 vanilla pod
•      300 g of powdered sugar

You can see, this ain't slimfast or some other low calorie, tasteless drink. This is a rich treat. So don't do this, while your lady is concerned about weight.

On to the - quick and easy - preparation:

An important note first, do not use a blender. 
Slow stirring is all we need to do.
  
Press the 300 g powdered sugar through a strainer into a bowl large enough for all the ingredients. 

Separate the egg yolks from the egg white and slowly mix the powdered sugar with the 8 egg yolks.

Cut the vanilla pod open, scrape out the marrow, and add it to the sugar-egg yolk mixture.
 
Slowly add the double cream while stirring gently.
 
Slowly add the vodka while stirring gently for about five minutes.

Now pour the finished liquor into small bottles.
 
You are done. That is all. 
Easy enough?

Enjoy this drink at room temperature to get the full aroma and flavor.

You can store this drink in the fridge for about three weeks. 
You just have to shake the bottle before consumption. 

Why will this help you score points with your girl?

It is a sweet, delicious drink she will like. 
This beats the commercial Bailey's any time.
Plus, YOU made it ONLY for her.

Besides drinking it, you can pour it over chocolate ice cream, over hot chocolate cake, or any other desert. And what woman does not love chocolate?

As an alternative to drinking it as a liquor, you can put a small shot of it in a champagne flute and slowly top up with champagne. This is called a snowball. It makes for a nice New Years Eve drink.

PS:
For those concerned with salmonella, the alcohol from the vodka kills those. 
As an additional precaution, you can alter the preparation slightly. 
First, mix the egg yolks with the vodka and store that mix at room temperature for three days. Then proceed as mentioned above, add sugar, vanilla, and cream.
