better late than...

Dear diablog,

When an evening begins to run out of things to do, one of my favourite TV destinations is Later... with Jools Holland on BBC2 which usually serves to lift the spirits with glimpses of new artists and good music mixed with the established and on occasion historic.

Last week though, it appears that the programme must have been hacked by our own Engine Room and, for this first clip, Pete.
He is renowned for liking Droning Cohen and similar morose balladeers. Did he find a good one this time, talk about 'music to slit your wrists by'...


 
 
Why does anyone listen to anything Muse do or, astoundingly, buy their dirgey offerings?
 
But worse (a lot worse) was yet to come! Engine Room had obviously contacted the producers to persuade them that his 'thing' needed a greater audience (as on his own it was hard to create a trend) and we (that is all viewers) were subject to...
 


 
...Public Image Ltd - a Johnny Rotten inspiration with him as the only permanent member of the band (probably no one else can take it for more than one number at a time!). With harmonious and musically challenging numbers such as
 
 
 
 
one realises what an influence his love of Punk has had on our ER. More can be exhumed by visiting this site where you can listen to the fabulous Reggie Song which is being released today. Do it now, someone may have (hopefully) redacted the site tomorrow!
 
Thank heavens that at least one person on the show was both excellent and musical! If you have not heard her before, here is Nathalie Duncan
