Today we celebrate Bill Bryson, happy 60th birthday!
I mentioned Bill earlier on diablog here and his excellent writing about the English language.
The Mother Tongue cannot be recommended often enough.
Also great is his book A Short History of Nearly Everything.
Bill wrote this popular book as a non-scientist. And he admits to have made a few mistakes. He also supports the correction of his mistakes, you can find them here: http://errata.wikidot.com/0767908171
Today, Bill Bryson is the Chancellor of Durham University, a position he "inherited" from another one of my favorite renaissance men, Sir Peter Ustinov.
