both ends of the spectrum...

Dear diablog,

A couple of evenings ago Mme. Glynskette and I, discovering little was being broadcast on TV that took our fancy, decided to settle down to watch two films. OMG!!! In our innocence could we have have chosen two more diverse!

Luckily we saw the 'worst' first. I am also proud that the choice of this one was not mine - 'Precious'.
Who in their right mind writes this sort of thing. If it was meant to 'alert' me to reality, I would ask whose and the mental state of the writer. I see Oprah is involved - enough said.
I immediately admit to being an escapist and wish to be 'entertained' by the film I am watching - this was foul mouthed manic depression  which I suppose I am meant to classify as gritty drama. Oh perleeeese!

Be warned diablog, don't say Glynsky didn't warn you!

In complete contrast - and I am not joking - ....

... the second was great fun, beautifully made with Venice, the queen of the sea, as one of the main stars. Apart from the visual location delights, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp sparked off each other for the whole film giving the best silly plot film I have seen recently a gloss and delight I could never have forseen. Thank heavens the evening was rescued.

This, for fun, silliness, adventure and beautiful people is close to the top of my list - ever. No wonder they stayed there (families and all) for 9 months.

Long live, diablog, escapism.

Yours, diablog, in dreams

Glynsky

Can I trust you on this? After all the bad reviews I never went to see The Tourist. Actually, you are the first I know to have seen it.
Remember what Ricky Gervais said:

You've given me an idea for a new post, however, why listen to someone elses opinion? All I will tell you is a) both Venice and Angelina are a joy to behold, b) both are much more than the surface and deserve respect, c) Mr. Depp is one of my cinema heros and d) I honestly loved the escapist nonsense. Does this help?

Trust Glynsky?
I would rather trust Blind Pew as an air traffic controller
