In this post on diablog I informed you, that Microsoft has filed a patent for eavesdropping VoIP communication, specifically Skype, which Microsoft had bought just weeks before.
And a bit later I informed you here about my request for a statement from Skype, what they intend to do about it.
In the meantime I received another email from Skype. And guess what, they still have no answer.
By now Skype - as admitted in the email - is receiving a storm of inquiries. They call it:
"an unexpected increase in the number of recent inquiries"With hundreds of millions of users and paying customers, I do not want to be in their shoes. And I bet quite a few people at Microsoft in Redmont are steaming.
In other news, the US congress just allowed its members to use Skype. I wonder, whether that will be revoked after the Microsoft patent hits main stream media, which - as usual - has yet to report about the issue.
Stay tuned,
