I wish I knew what all the fuss has been about with the confusing number of comments that have been posted by my colleagues. It was, after all, just a very long weekend!
The 2011 Henley Music Festival, referred to by the redoubtable Engine Room here, was from my point of view a resounding success.
Mme Glynskette and I were lucky enough to have spent two uproarious evenings there, once on a boat and the second on 'dry' land. That is just a figure of speech! The only time one can attribute the word 'dry' to our visit is the description of the type of champagne consumed - and boy, was it!
As an intro, on the first evening, we treated ourselves to a number of pomegranate 'Bellini's'
with Fois Gras 'in volume' before sitting down, with various grape items, for the main and serious business demanded of all participants (the main bandstand is visible back left - not that we made it!).
whilst, at varying intervals, our dashing captain...
(sorry 'bout the 'red eye' - thought this came later!) ferried various guests and visitors hither and thither
about the place with a total disregard of instructions displayed by the authorities! This was on a visit to the floating stage to cheer the cast of the show give them encouragement.
The real star, though, was our 'floating HQ', which unlike the International one, is fairly unique
Guess who may have fallen off the roof terrace!
What a night that was - more on the following Saturday will follow soon!
Yours, diablog, with soggy wellies
Glynsky

Mon dieu,
The roll of kitchen paper is a style lapse of unspeakable proportions. I am deeply concerned about the displayed lack of attention to detail there. How could you? Fire the butler.

To my eternal sham! Everytime I tried to photo it JD stuck his hand in with something else - I have 27 photos of his arm!
